Obama!

Thanks to Stephen, my morning at the office started on a happy note! Right before the inauguration, he gave me this Obama cookie. I must admit, though, it felt a little weird to cut in half when Mindy and I ate it after lunch. (It was delicious, by the way... it tasted like change and hope!)
Here's to new beginnings!

Saturday Afternoon

Finally... two+ weeks after the actual holiday, my family was able to get together yesterday for Christmas.
Snow and floods had kept us apart, but it was a happy ending being able to watch Leo play with Brin, as well as his first meeting with J & K's new dog, Sam. (Sam was the "herder" dog who did not like watching Leo scrap it up with his new sister, Brin. It was cute.)

Many Thanks

As the snow is melting and we can get out and about by car now, I want to thank my husband for picking me up from work yesterday and taking me to Matador.

And thanks to the bartender for the perfectly cold, yummy martini I had alongside my delicious $4 happy hour nachos.

And also a big thank you to Mindy. You know why!! I love it!!

Getting Out of the House
The Hub and I ventured out to the drugstore, grocery store and liquor store today around noon. It was nice to get out of the house, but still hairy conditions out there! We drove part of the way, walked part of the way, then had a helluva time getting our car back home on the snowy & icy roads.

Our street. The tall cedar tree on the right is our front yard.

Walking south on 15th towards the liquor store.

The corner of 15th & 80th. The sun came out!

A beautiful tree on 80th.

Even More Snow!
Another blast of snow came through last night, and this one really dumped a lot of snow on us! I haven't seen this much snow since our 1996 snow storm. It's quite beautiful outside, but I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that we don't lose our power due to power lines coming down from heavy snow and ice.
